La Moda Magazine
Designed by Maria Pellegrino in Adobe Photoshop
2024
Objective:
An eye-catching, dynamic magazine cover geared toward fashion and beauty.
Target Audience:
Fashion enthusiasts and trendsetters who are not only interested in fashion but also in luxury, status, and staying ahead of the curve. The target audience is likely to be very brand-conscious, valuing prestigious names in the fashion industry such as Oscar de la Renta, which is depicted in the mockup below.
Process:
Drawing inspiration from classic fashion influences and my own design perspective, I developed the name “La Moda”—meaning “fashion” in Italian and Spanish. The name reflects the magazine’s chic, sophisticated identity.
First, I established a cohesive design system rooted in the initial cover concept, defining layout structure, typography pairings, and bold imagery. Each issue maintains a consistent visual framework: a striking, high-impact cover image edited in Photoshop and layered strategically on color panels to set the tone for the content. The back cover features a large, eye-catching brand advertisement, designed to reinforce both style and commercial purpose.
Inside, the editorial spreads continue the visual language of the cover. The typefaces remain aligned with the brand identity while introducing subtle variations to enhance hierarchy, contrast, and reader engagement. The result is a polished, fashion-forward publication with a strong and recognizable visual identity across every issue.
