Objective:

An eye-catching, dynamic magazine cover geared toward fashion and beauty.

Target Audience:

Fashion enthusiasts and trendsetters who are not only interested in fashion but also in luxury, status, and staying ahead of the curve. The target audience is likely to be very brand-conscious, valuing prestigious names in the fashion industry such as Oscar de la Renta, which is depicted in the mockup below.

Process:

Drawing inspiration from classic influences and using my own unique perspective I developed the name “La Moda” which translates to fashion. This is an elegant yet chic name for the magazine, aligning with the sophisticated identity of the publication.

First, I developed a cohesive and refined design system, anchored by the initial magazine cover concept. This foundational design included carefully curated elements such as layout structures, refined typography pairings, and striking imagery.

For each issue of La Moda, I maintained a consistent design framework to establish a recognizable visual identity. The front cover of every issue features a bold, high-impact image— edited in Adobe Photoshop to remove the background and strategically positioned to create a clean aesthetic. The two color panels on each cover were carefully adjusted for each issue, tailored to complement the cover image and set the tone for the content within. To maintain consistency in branding, on the back cover(s) I placed a large, visually captivating image to serve as an advertisement for the featured brand of that issue.

The interior spreads carry forward the identity of the cover design. Typography choices maintain partial consistency with the cover fonts, while incorporating subtle variations to introduce visual contrast and sustain reader engagement. This careful typographic balance enhances the luxurious and editorial feel of the magazine, underscoring its identity as a high-end, fashion-forward publication.
